For The People

For too long we have allowed ourselves to be conditioned to think only about party when we talk to our neighbors. That has shaped our experiences to be adversarial, and shaped us to lose sight of what matters locally, and, what it means to be a good neighbor. We can get back to that.

I am committed to People, Not Politics or party ideaology, no matter how much some may want to steer the conversation there. I am in this race, not for you or for me, but for us, The People.

Issues I’m Campaigning For:

Keeping Tax Dollars Local

Putnam County is sitting on a multi-year Sales Tax Surplus. I have advocated directly to the County Legislature to disperse that money back to the towns and tax payers who funded it, providing for critical infrastructure and easing the tax burden on projects like what’s happening in Carmel Water District-2.

This effort, along with that of locally elected officials, has led to this moving forward. However, I think it can and should be more.

If Elected, I will flip a seat currently preventing that from being a reality, and keep that fight alive by providing a crucial vote in making it a reality.

Fair St. & Gleneida Ave

With Carmel Hamlet and Kent making up the least family-friendly “downtown” in the county, filled with multi-year store front vacancies, we need to go back to the drawing board on what to do about county owned properties in the district, and economic development overall.

Ignored by the Mahopac-focused town of Carmel for too long, I will work collaboratively with the town to find ways to improve our downtown, as well as with county agencies like IDA and EDC.

Two of our three main economic development centers are plazas, filled with multi-year vacancies, owned by the same multi-billion dollar Real Estate Investment Trust with no ties, or care, for our community.

If elected I will provide innovative, business-led solutions, using any and all mechanisms provided to my position to work together and restore our district, the seat of County of Government, to a place families want to spend a night out or a nice weather weekend.

Pro-Transparency

I have personally attended dozens of Legislative meetings and serve on the Putnam County Soil and Water Board.

I am on the record directly, and repeatedly, confronting our County Legislature about the way they conduct business. Whether it’s Government Overreach of our farmers, or the practice of back room deals and preventing the public from speaking BEFORE they take votes, it all must come to an end.

If Elected I will continue that fight, and restore the rights of the people to make their voices heard before legislators place votes that impact their lives.

Already as a candidate, I am conducting the most accessible and transparent campaign. I publish all videos of my comments in the legislature, put out a weekly newsletter recapping important legislative meetings and what they mean for us, as well as being personally accessible in person and by email to all constituents.

That will continue after you elect me to serve you in the County Legislature.
